Mikro-Mikko is Metropolia IT Services' AI bot that answers questions related to IT Services.
What can mikro-Mikko do?
Mikro-Mikko has access to all the content on the Metropolia IT Services' public website to provide answers. There are almost a thousand individual help pages. You can ask the bot questions such as:
- How do I enable two-factor authentication?
- Is software X in use at Metropolia?
- Can I use email while abroad?
Based on your question, Mikro-Mikko searches for the most suitable sources from the IT Services instructions and formulates an answer based on them. In every answer, you will receive instructions on how to submit a service request or get in touch. You will also see links to the sources used, so you can verify the information directly from the original instructions.
Scheduled Source Updates
Mikro-Mikko does not fetch the information it uses directly from the site, but from its own index. This is updated on Wednesdays between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
How do I use mikro-Mikko?
- Open the address https://mikko.metropolia.fi.
- Enter your question in the message field and click the send icon.

- Wait for the answer to be generated; this can take 10-30 seconds.
- Read the answer.

- Open the direct links to the used sources at the end of the answer. If an English version of a source document is available, it will be listed immediately after the Finnish version, preceded by an (ENG) prefix.
- Alternatively, you can open the source content directly in your browser window using the bottom link in the output. This allows you to check the content even if the website is down, for example, due to a system update.

- Leave feedback by clicking the thumbs-up (positive feedback) or thumbs-down (negative feedback) icon.
Mikro-Mikko's Teams version
Only Single Messages
Mikro-Mikko's Teams version always responds to a single message and does not take previous messages in the same conversation into account. Please include all necessary information in every question.
Mikro-Mikko is also available in Microsoft Teams. You can ask Mikro-Mikko for answers to your IT-related questions in two ways:
How do I send a Teams message to Mikro-Mikko through the chatbot's own window?
Open the chatbot window by clicking the Mikro-Mikko icon on the left side of Teams.
Enter your question in the message field.
Click the send icon.
Wait for the answer to be generated; this can take 10-30 seconds.
Read the answer.
Click Palvelupyyntö / Ticket or Linkit / Links if you want to see instructions for creating a service request or links to the source material.

How do I send a message to Mikro-Mikko directly from any Teams chat?
Start typing "@mikro" in the message field of a chat window or group chat window.
Select Mikro-Mikko as the recipient.

Finish typing your message and click the send icon.
Wait 10-30 seconds for the answer to be generated.
The answer will be outputted in the chat, where all participants can read it.
Did you encounter a problem?
- Restart your computer and the device where the issue is occurring. Try the function again.
- If the function you are attempting is happening in a web browser, try the function again in an incognito or private window and in a different browser.
- Try searching for a solution on the site of the IT Services by using the following search methods:
