Wireless network Eduroam
What is Eduroam?
Eduroam is an international network roaming system for universities and research institutions, which Metropolia has also joined. Members of Metropolia can access the network using their own user credentials when visiting other Eduroam member organizations, and the same works the other way around.
All public Metropolia services as well as visitor network internet services are available through the network. There is no access to Metropolia’s internal services from the network. To use internal network services, you will need a VPN connection in addition to your Eduroam network connection.
Do not connect directly; follow the instructions to install
For your own security, always remember to follow the instructions when connecting to the Eduroam network. If you connect to Eduroam directly from your device by selecting a network named Eduroam, the network will ask for your username and password. However, in this case, you cannot be sure whether you are connecting to the official Eduroam network, or if your login information will fall into the hands of criminals.
