The student undertakes to follow EXAM (electronic exam software) regulations when taking an exam in the exam room. Acceptance of the terms is given when a student logs in to the electronic exam software EXAM for the first time.

EXAM electronic exams follows the Degree Regulations and General Policy on the Use of Information Systems of Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

The exam room is supervised by recording cameras. In addition, the voice is recorded. When a student registers for the exam, he gives a consent to camera surveillance during the exam. The student agrees that his identity can be verified combining camera surveillance data, enrollment data and access control data of the exam room.

When taking an electronic exam, a student must be able to present a proof of identity. A student must have a student card or identification card with him during the exam. Random checks are made if necessary in addition to recording camera surveillance. A student is obligated to verify his identity also after the exam if needed.

Before entering the exam room, a student must leave all belongings outside (eg. bag, mobile phone, headphones, outdoor clothes, calculator, food, drinks). Lockers are provided outside the room. Only thing a student is required to bring with him is a student card or ID card. Also the access card to the room is allowed.

The lobby service will give a student an access to the exam room. The lobby service will check the student’s identity and the booked exam time.

It is not allowed to enter the exam room without a booked exam time.

A student must arrive to the campus early enough, because the exam time starts immediately when the booked time begins. It is recommended to enter the exam room approximately 5 minutes before the exam, so that the previous examinee has time to finish his exam.

The exam time starts in the beginning of the booked time. A student may start the exam anytime within the reserved timeslot. However, if the student comes late, the time available for the exam is shorter. The exam ends when a student hands in the exam or when the booked time ends. The exam system saves the data automatically when the exam time ends. A student may leave the exam room when he has ended or aborted the exam.

During the exam, a student is not allowed to leave the exam room and come back. If leaving the room in the middle of the exam is necessary because health causes, a student must agree on a matter with the teacher. The student’s exam can be failed, if student leaves the exam room and returns without permission.

There is a recording camera surveillance system in the exam room, which is used to supervise students during the exam. If there is doubt about cheating the personnel acts according to the school regulations.

It is required to have total silence in the exam room. The students are not allowed to discuss with each other.

If the exam is prohibited or disturbed by technical or other problems (eg. disturbance in the exam room, fire alarm) , a student needs to abort the exam, leave the exam room and report the problem. Contact information in case of a problem is found in the exam room. The email will be forwarded to the teacher who decides the possibility to retake the exam.

The assessment period of the exam follows the Degree Regulations of the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
