Google Apps for Education and Microsoft Office 365 Education are application packages for academic institutions, based on cloud service principle. A cloud service is an information system implemented so that the system itself and the files stored in it are located outside of Metropolia. They can be accessed anywhere using a web browser or a mobile device app or browser. Cloud service documents can be synchronized to the user’s own device. These tools are additional services at Metropolia. They do not at the moment replace existing information systems, and using them is voluntary.
