What should I do if I can't get the image to display on the projector or television during a presentation?
Before submitting a service request, please do the following:
- Ensure that the correct HDMI cable is connected to the computer. In learning spaces the cable is an HDMI cable labelled LAPTOP.
Verify that the computer is sending the image to the device.
- Press Windows + P.
Select Duplicate/Extend.
- Make sure that there is no adapter connected to the computer without a cable. (Attachment of adapter bundle to the HDMI cable by wire can be misleading.)
Ensure that the power cord of the television is plugged into the power outlet.
How should I proceed in case of an issue?
Change classroom
Resolve the issue by switching to another classroom if it is feasible and makes sense to do so. Submit a service request to the Helpdesk to ensure the functionality of the original classroom.
- Restart your computer and the device where the issue is occurring. Try the function again.
- If the function you are attempting is happening in a web browser, try the function again in an incognito or private window and in a different browser.
- Try searching for a solution on the site of the IT Services by using the following search methods:
- navigation menu of the site (on the left)
- search machine of the wiki (right upper corner)
- a general search engine, for instance Google Search
- alphabetical index
- FAQ
If the problem is not resolved, please contact the helpdesk according to best practices. Always include a full screen screenshot of the issue in your service request.
