Backup photos from phone to cloud (Google Photos)
Do I have backup on?
If in Google Photos, above your profile is an icon as shown, backup is set off.
Turning backup on
1. Open Google Photos.
2. Press your profile from the top right corner.
3. Select Turn on backup.
4. Select the backup quality that suits for you and decide whether you want to use cell data for backups.
5. Press Confirm.
Note regarding backup quality
Google's cloud services offer unlimited saving capacity for students and teachers in Metropolia. For other users, there's 15 Gb of free space. Additional space is available for a fee.
Your phone should now start automatically backup your photos to the cloud.
Accessing photos on other device
First time opening the phone
1. Log in to your Google account in the form of username@metropolia.fi and select Next.
2. Select Accept.
3. Type in your Metropolia account and press Login.
No backups found
If you come across a message "No backups found", select Next
Continue to configure you phone as you like.
When the phone is ready to use, you can find your backuped photos from the Google Photos -app. If needed, download the app from your phones app store.
The phone is already in use
Open either your app store or Google Photos -app and log in to your Google account
1. Log in to your Google account in the form of username@metropolia.fi and select Next.
2. Select Accept.
3. Type in your Metropolia account and press Login.
