Applies to staff
This response is intended for Metropolia staff, not students.
Ensure that you have selected all programs from the Applications tab in Software Center by clicking on All.
- Make sure you have followed all the specific instructions on the page Software Center - Software Installation on Metropolia-Managed Computers.
If Software Center is broken or missing
Follow the instructions below if any of the following apply
- Software Center doesn't start at all, and you have restarted your computer.
When the program is not found in Software Center and:
- you know that the program you are trying to install is targeted for your computer
- you have restarted your computer
- you have run the Check for new apps program
- you have waited for a few minutes before attempting the installation.
If the program is found in Software Center, but you encounter an error code ending with numbers 324 or 2xx while installing.
- Close the Software Center window.
- Establish a VPN connection if you are not on campus network.
Run the Software Center repair application from the Start menu.
- Grant permission for the program to make changes to your computer by selecting 'OK' or entering your password.
- A black command prompt window will open. You can minimize the window, but do not close it.
Wait for about 45 minutes. You can still use your computer during this time, but do not restart the computer or open Software Center before the 45 minutes have passed.
If the Software Center repair application did not fix the problem, reinstall Software Center manually.
- Close Software Center.
- Run the command prompt as an administrator.
- Search for cmd in the start menu
- Click on Run as administrator.
- Type c:
- Press Enter.
- Type cd \windows\cmclient
- Press Enter.
- Type asenna.bat
- Press Enter.
Do not start Software Center until the installation is complete. NOTE: The screen or command prompt may not show any progress, even though the installation is still ongoing.
Wait for at least 45 minutes.
Alternatively, monitor when the process named 'ccmsetup.exe' has ended (e.g., using Task Manager or the command 'tasklist | find "ccmsetup.exe"').
- Restart Software Center.
