You may send messages to other Peppi users. When you send a message to someone via the message service, the message goes to the recipient's email and Peppi desktop. The messages you receive via Peppi will show peppi(at)organisaatio.fi as the sender of the message. When you reply such an email it goes to the recipient's messages service.

On the front page of your desktop, you will see the messages sent to you via the service. You will also see the messages you have sent yourself and the ones that have been replied to.

How to use this function?

The Messages service is a handy tool for many purposes such as:

  • Sending a message to the entire staff of one unit
  • Sending a message to a group of students
  • Sending a message to the students of an implementation / course
  • Sending a message to another staff members about Peppi services, for example: "Please check your workplan and tell me if it's OK?"

Step-by-step instructions

How to send messages (to staff members)?

You may send messages to one individual person or more than one persons.

  1. Select "Staff" from the top menu
  2. To search for people by unit, write the name of the unit or part of the name in the unit field
  3. (Option) Save the search to find the same people next time from the left-hand side menu under Own searches
  4. Select all people by ticking the box at the heading line
  5. (Option) Deselect the people to whom you do NOT want to send the message
  6. Select the envelope on the heading line
  7. Write the heading and contents of the message
  8. Select Send

How to send messages (to a group of students)?

  1. Select Units from the top menu
  2. Search for the right unit
  3. Select Groups link
  4. Select the right group from the list
  5. Select students link
  6. Select all people by ticking the box at the heading line
  7. (Option) Deselect the people to whom you do NOT want to send the message
  8. Select the envelope on the heading line
  9. Write the heading and contents of the message
  10. Select Send

How to send messages (to the students of an implementation / course)

  1. Go to Year Planning and select Realisations under that or go straight to Realisations if you are working on the Teacher's desktop
  2. Find the course whose students you wish to send a message and open it
  3. Select the tab Students
  4. Select all students at once by ticking the box on the heading line
  5. (Option) Deselect the people to whom you do NOT want to send the message
  6. Select the envelope on the heading line
  7. Write the heading and contents of the message
  8. Select Send
