Policy Change on Student Computers
During the fall of 2015 a logon policy change will be implemented on student computers.
Note! This concerns only Windows 7 computers.
Automatic lock
If the user who is logged on to the computer is not using the workstation for 15 minutes, the system locks it up automatically. This protects the logged on user against the misuse of his or her data.
Automatic logoff
If the logged on user does not use the workstation for 90 minutes, i.e. for 1.5 hours, the system logs off the user automatically. At the same time the user's programs are closed to free resources.
Locked workstation
If the user has left the classroom and locked the workstation he or she used, IT Services recommends using other workstations in the classroom. If the user in question does not show up within 30-60 minutes, logging on the workstation is possible using a student user ID.
1) Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to unlock the workstation.
2) Select Other Credentials.
3) Select User Unlock.
4) Enter your Metropolia user ID and password. The system logs out the previous user.
5) Long in to the workstation using your Metropolia user ID
