Eduroam on ChromeOS Devices
1. Browse to cat.eduroam.org
2. Click on Click here to download your eduroam installer:
3. Select Metropolia from the results:
4. Click on Download your eduroam installer Chrome OS:
5. A gray box opens under the button. Click on Continue in the bottom right corner of the box:
6. Open a new tab in your browser.
7. In the tab's address field, type chrome://network#general and press Enter.
8. A page opens. Click on Choose file button, under Import ONC file:
9. In the My Files list, select you Downloads folder.
10 In the file list in the panel on the right, find the file you downloaded in step 5, namely eduroam-chromeos-Metropolia.onc and double-click it:
11. In the upper right corner, click on Verkon valinta to open the tab.
12. Select eduroam from the list:
13. In the Join Wi-Fi network window in the Identity field. enter your username in the short form username@metropolia.fi. Enter your password in the Password field.
14. In the Save identity and password box you can choose whether to have your username and password saved for automatic web login
15. Click on Connect:
16. Your device is now connected to Metropolia eduroam network:
Did you encounter a problem?
- Restart your computer and the device where the issue is occurring. Try the function again.
- If the function you are attempting is happening in a web browser, try the function again in an incognito or private window and in a different browser.
- Try searching for a solution on the site of the IT Services by using the following search methods:
- navigation menu of the site (on the left)
- search machine of the wiki (right upper corner)
- a general search engine, for instance Google Search
- alphabetical index
- FAQ
