Chaosgroup V-Ray on Home Computer
Not for Metropolia maintained computers
Instructions here apply to your own computer only, not to computers that are maintained by Metropolia. You install software on your own computer at your own risk and you yourself are in response of whether their work and of what they do you your computer. If you want software installed on a Metropolia computer, please ask Helpdesk to do the installation.
Ask your instructor for a username and a password.
1. Browse to www.chaosgroup.com and select Downloads in the upper right corner.
2. Enter the username and password, download the v-ray program that you want.
3. Install on default settings.
4. When the installation has finished, the lisence management page open in the browser (the page address is localhost:30304 - the page opens also by clicking on Manage ChaosGroup License Server in the start menu).
5. Select Online Licensing and login with the username.
6. After this v-ray gets the license.
If there is a problem
If the license management page opens blank, try another browser. Chrome works, IE does not seem to work.
If that does not help, restart the computer.
