Apple Mac, Mail application
- Beginning with Apple Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) operating system Mac’s own Mail and iCal applications can be used to create a native Exchange connection.
- Both Mail and iCal applications can be used to create an Exchange account. An iCal example is shown below.
iCal calender
Open iCal and select Preferences. Create a new account by clicking on the plus (+) sign in the bottom.
Make the settings shown in the picture:
Full Name: Firstname Lastname
E-mail: your e-mail address, usually of the form firstname.lastname@metropolia.fi
Password: the password of your Metropolia user account
=> End by clicking on Create.
At the same time it is good to create also an Exchange account for e-mail.
In Also set up, select Mail and Address Book Contacts.
=> End by clicking on Create.
Exchange calendar is now ready to use!
You can check the Exchange account settings in iCal settings on the Account tab.
Mail e-mail
- => The Exchange account created in the previous example is now ready to be used for e-mail also in Mail.
E-mail settings are in Mail application’s page Preferences > Accounts.
