How to request an application or a device installation for a single computer

If you need an application or a device installed on a workstation, make a service request to the helpdesk system. IT Services administers application licensing and manages IT equipment purchaces. If an application license or a new equipment is needed, the Metropolia unit, cluster or Degree Programme must make a manager approved purchase request to the helpdesk system.

How to request an application installation or a change in settings for a classroom or location

If the application in question is in general use at the location or in an IT classroom, you can make a service request. However, the installation must be requested at least three months in advance. The reason for this is that a contolled management of the application lineup does not allow significant changes on a short notice. At every Metropolia location there is a faculty contact person with whom IT Services plans the application linup and settings. Contact persons are those instructors who use the applications the most and know how the applications should work.

The application lineup is planned usually twice a year for each location separately. Plans are made before the end of semester because installations take place usually during the summer break and the Christmas break. This arrangement ensures that the application lineup serves the needs of instruction as well as possible.
