Installation

Setting up your email account requires that Microsoft Outlook is installed on your computer. Outlook is included in the Microsoft Office 365 software package.

  • For computers managed by Metropolia, Microsoft Office 365 is pre-installed. If it is missing, do not install it yourself. If necessary, please contact the Helpdesk.
  • For a home computer, you can install Microsoft Office 365 by following the download and installation guide.


When you start Outlook for the first time, you can add your Metropolia email account directly by following the instructions below (Setting up your email account).

If Outlook is already installed on your computer, you can add the account as follows:

  1. Launch Outlook.
  2. Go to the File menu.
  3. Select Add Account.
  4. Continue from step 3 in the instructions below (Setting up your email account)

Setting up your email account

1. When you start Outlook for the first time, a "Welcome" window will appear. Click Next.

2. Select Yes and click Next.



3. Enter the information shown below:

4. Click the "More choices" link:


5. Click the "Use a different account" link:


6. Enter your username in the format pk\tunnus. Also, enter your password and click OK:


7. Your email is now set up and working in Outlook:
