Google Classroom is a learning management system which Google opened for general public in August 2014. It is available for all users of Google Apps for Education https://wiki.metropolia.fi/display/tietohallinto/Google+Apps+for+Education. The product is part of Google's and other media companies' effort to open a new market in the learning industry.
Classroom makes it easier to store, edit, and share learning resources. Its mission is to help instructors create and collect tasks paperlessly. They can easily copy a Google document automatically to all students. The application makes it easier to organize a classroom sessions by creating a separate Drive folder for each task and each student. Instructors can quickly check which students have done the exercises. They are also able to give feedback and grades in real-time in Classroom.
